Forklift Training Programs Saskatchewan

Forklift Training Programs Saskatchewan - Are you searching for work as a forklift driver? Our regulatory-compliant mobile equipment operator training provides instruction in kinds of forklifts, pre-shift check, fuel kinds and handling of fuels, and safe use of a lift truck. Practical, hands-on training helps individuals participating in obtaining essential operational skills. Program content covers existing regulations governing the utilization of forklifts. Our proven forklift programs are meant to offer training on these types of trucks: powered pallet truck, narrow isle forklift and counterbalanced forklift.

How to Handle Loads Safely

Do not raise or lower the fork when the lift truck is moving. A load must not extend over the backrest because of the possibility of the load sliding back in the direction of the operator. Check for overhead obstructions and make certain there is enough clearance before raising a load. Stay away from overhead power lines. Once the load is raised straight up, tilt it back slightly.

When the load is lifted the lift truck would be less steady. Make sure that no pedestrians cross below the elevated fork. The operator should not leave the forklift while the load is lifted.

When handling pallets, forks should be level and high enough to go into the pallet and extend all the way below the load. The width of the forks must provide equal weight distribution.

Before unloading or loading the truck, set the brakes and chock the wheels. Floors need to be strong enough to support the weight of the load and the forklift combined. Fixed jacks could be installed to be able to support a semi-trailer that is not coupled to a tractor. The entrance door height should clear the height of the forklift by at least 5 cm. Edges of rail cars, ramps and docks must be marked and avoid them.

If there is not proper ventilation into the forklift, do not stay in there for extended periods. The trucks interior must have adequate lighting and be free of obstructions. Check the flooring of the forklift cab for holes. The installation of material that are non-slip on the floor would help avoid slipping. Clear any obstacles from dockplates and docks and ensure surfaces are not wet or oily.

Never tow or push other vehicles with a forklift.
