Bucket Truck Training Saskatchewan - The Vehicle-Mounted Aerial Work Platform or bucket truck training program is intended to decrease the chance of incident and personal injury when working in close proximity or with bucket trucks by effectively training qualified operators. An aerial lift device is any vehicle-mounted device, articulating or telescoping, or both, that is used to position personnel to reach spots that would otherwise be not accessible. Aerial lift devices are utilized to elevate employees to above-ground work locations.

The objective of the program is to provide operators with the skills, knowledge, abilities, and training materials needed in order to learn to operate vehicle-mounted aerial work platforms safely and effectively.

The program has two portions: a hands-on session and a classroom training session. To become certified, participants must be successful in both components. A wallet-size certificate and a full-size certificate would be given upon finishing the program.

Platform: the component of an aerial device that is designed to carry staff.
Mobile unit: any aerial device together with its components such as vehicle and related machine.

Employers have the responsibility to ensure their worker obtain correct training before operating aerial devices. Workers must make sure they likewise receive the required training and that they do not operate lift devices if they are not authorized to do so. Workers must ensure that they have on the correct protective equipment if working from the platform.

Course content includes operating the vehicle-mounted aerial work platform, safe operating practices, pre-shift inspections, lifting capacity, use of emergency controls, and administering practical and theory tests. Operators will learn rules under the local and federal regulations.
